Kids Kingdom Playground
Dedicated in 1997, the Kids Kingdom playground at Eiras Field was a special place for Rowley kids to leisurely play and explore in a safe environment. But after almost 13 years, it needed maintenance and upgrades.
In the fall of 2009, Dana Warren of T.W. Excavating cleared the grounds and opened up the area around the playground. Ron and Kyle removed some play fixtures thought to be hazardous. Jim Yescalis of Yescalis & Sons Painting power washed the main playground area and brought it back to life. Tim Southall of the Rowley Parks and Recreation Committee has been instrumental in helping us with the fall cleanup and selection of playground equipment. And, Kim Perilli of Ground Effects and The Great Marsh Club of Rowley led a beautification project at Kid’s Kingdom.
On Monday, January 11, 2010, at Special Town Meeting in Rowley, voters approved $4,000. to be dedicated to this project.
On Saturday May 1, 2010 over 70 volunteers installed the new playground in one day. A special thank you to Steve Dibble of Dibble & Sons Plyground Equipment.
On Saturday May 22, 2010 the playground was re-dedicated and a plaque in memory of Stephanie was donated by Ron Jenkins and a special thank you to Mount Pleasant Memorials for their donation towards the plaque.
Continued renovations were done through 2015. The large section of the playground from 1997 was replaced September 2016.
Special thanks to Doug Perilli of Spectrum Marketing Solutions, Rowley, MA for donating all the graphic design required for every aspect of Solace for Stephanie.
